Lotusphere 2007 wrap-up

What a week it was!  The major theme from the latest blog entries from all involved seems to be 'exhaustion'.  I have to agree.  It's different when speaking as an IBMer.  I had 3 sessions this year,  one Jumpstart and one hands-on, repeated twice, plus a BOF.  So between the practicing, the delivery, the post-session questions and required lab duty, there's not much time left for things like eating, sleeping or attending sessions - in fact most of the  time slots I had reserved for sessions were preempted in favor of eating and sleeping.  I did manage to make it out to the repeat of Worst Practices, and even sat in the dreaded 'splash zone' there.  I only made it to the Showcase once, and that was to fight for Hagen Daz bars.

Random thoughts:
The C.U.L.T retro I AM shirts, the unofficial Iris 2.0 and Lotus 2.0 buttons and the new product announcements added to the buzz and the fact is that the excitement really IS back inside and outside IBM.
Knowing about Quickr and Connections beforehand and not being able to say the words was maddening.
Chris Miller has a really sweet audio kit for podcasting.
The staff shirts were a color that had Paul Mooney stating "If you like what's happening here, thank a canary".    Not a flattering color.
Note to self:  Do NOT go into Kimono's with that Irish gang again.  It is apparently illegal for them to leave a bar before it actually closes.  2 AM comes around quickly.  6 AM even more so.
Second Note to self:  You said that last year too.
As usual, it was fun working with Kathleen, and seeing all of the other crazies.
The DST2007 change is still a surprise for people.  This is scary.
The Blog Monkey was a hit, and even found a young friend.  We DID break out the flying monkeys also.  Pictures are up.
It should be illegal to wake up to 40 degree rain on the last day of Lotusphere in Orlando.
I promised myself to blog every day - oh well......maybe next year.

Next year as a speaker is never guaranteed. I'll be working hard to make sure the sessions I submit will  be useful and popular.  Until then, see ya online!
