I LOVE my job!

I love my job most days.  When I get notes in the mail like I did today (yes, I usually read my mail on Saturday), I absolutely love it.  I got tagged as an internal test user for pre-beta Hannover.  The developers have been using it of course, but now they're letting some of us uber-geeks get into the action.  The note said something like:  You should use it daily, give feedback on what you like and don't like, support yourself if it breaks or you have questions because you're basically going to be the ones who figure out how to support it, and oh - by the way - keep up with your day job at the same time.

Why am I jazzed?  No, its more than just the insanity of it all.  It is sure to break from time to time - and I plan to push it to the limits.  Right now, Mary Beth and team are designing for Samantha, Ted and Betty.  I'll be testing on behalf of Chad, the distracted administrator.  You know - the one who loads the design task at 10AM on Monday on the busiest mail server.  Or stops the router task on the gateway and forgets to start it back for hours.  Or simply stops to think - and never starts back.  That's who I'm testing for.  I'm also testing for you - let me know if you want me to try something.  Stay in touch through Mary Beth's blog - they really are listening to you, but if you're wondering if it does one thing or another, let me know - I'll try it.

Because I'm sure I'll create problems, I sent Mary Beth a friend to help with the development effort.   I'll find a copy of the server code and set up a playground in VM also, so I can try to break things in my spare time.  (Who needs sleep?).

I'm already using Productivity Tools for my documents and presentations, but am anxious to see how they integrate it into Hannover.

I'm tellin' ya, with being able to play with the new toys like Hannover and NOMAD, I couldn't ask for much more out of a job.  This is nearly nerd heaven in my opinion.

I'll be in Boston this week with our Premium Support Customers.  (You can be one too - check it out here).  I'll see a lot of old friends and greet some of the hooligans who called me from a pub in Dublin last night.  And I'll be showing NOMAD to anyone who asks - and some who don't.

Stay tuned - I'll be blogging more and more......
